This duffel was made by Bernd Kreis in Obertshausen outside of Frankfurt, Germany. Mr. Kreis' family has been making small leather goods since 1963. His attention to detail and fine work are unparalleled, and each piece is hand finished.

The leather used in this bag is a version of our Natural Chromexcel. This leather has been pit-tanned, using techniques developed by Isidore Horween in 1905. A 30 day vegetable tannage is followed by conditioning with tallow, lanolin, and beeswax. The resulting leather is supple, strong, and very dense. This particular hide was extremely thick for a horsehide, and a brand, as well as all of the natural character of the hide, has been left intact.

The bag is fully lined with natural cotton, and features a single zippered interior pocket. The zippers have been waxed and fitted for smooth operation. The edges of the bag can be unfastened from the barrel for ease of loading and unloading. Included with the duffel is a fully adjustable natural cotton shoulder strap.

This bag will fit in the overhead compartment of most aircraft. This bag is made to be used and will improve with age.
